| History of Yuncheng University |
May, 1978 preparations were started for setting up Yuncheng Teachers College and new students were enrolled
July, 1983 Yuncheng College of Education was founded
March, 1985 Preparations were started for setting up Hedong University
December 1989 Approved by former State Commission of Education and conformed to the decision of the People¡¯s Government of Shanxi Province, the three colleges were amalgamated into Yuncheng Advanced Training College
June 1999,Yuncheng Advanced Training College started project of ¡°strengthen the college to rise to university¡±. In August 2000, the provincial government reported to the Ministry of the State Education to establish Yuncheng University on the basis of Yuncheng Advanced Training College
March, 2001 the expert team of the Ministry of the State Education came to the college to make an on-the-spot investigation. Wang Xin Vice governor met with the members of the expert team.
January 1st, 2002, the Appraisal Committee of the National University Establishment held meeting in Guilin, Guangxi Province and voted for setting up Yuncheng University on the basis of Yuncheng Advanced Training College
February 22,2002, the Ministry of the State Education notified the People¡¯s Government of Shanxi Province that the setting up of Yuncheng University was officially approved
April 5,2002, the provincial government issued an official document for the approval of the establishment of Yuncheng University
June, 2002, the official seal ¡°Yuncheng University¡± Started using
March 10, 2003, the leading group of the Party and administration of Yuncheng University was formed
