Symposium of cooperation between University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Yuncheng University was held in Yuncheng University on May 5th, 2016. Vice President Fred Ebeid and Prof. Wang Zhemin from University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and Prof. Liang Yongping, vice President of YCU, Prof. Huang Xieyu, director of the Department of Economy and Management, YCU, and Zhang Qingwen, director of the Foreign Affairs,YCU, attended the symposium.
At the symposium, vice president Liang Yongping expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of Fred Ebeid and his colleagues. Liang introduced the basic situation and developing orientation of YCU. This university aims to train high-level practical talents based on local economic development requirements, and international exchange and cooperation is an orientation in talents training. So far, YCU has cooperated with 20 universities from 9 countries. Liang also expressed willingness to cooperate with University of Wisconsin-Parkside on a wide range, including specialty construction, culture exchange, talents training and scientific research and so on. Liang also introduced Hedong Culture Research Center, which is a provincial-level humanity and social science key research base, and extended welcome to teachers and students from University of Wisconsin-Parkside to study Chinese culture here, hoping both universities will develop better through cooperation and exchange.
Vice President Fred Ebeid also introduced the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The university is located in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, USA. Founded in 1968, it is one campus of the University of Wisconsin System. Parkside has more than 4600 students and 180 professors in 4 colleges. Business Administrationand Computer and Information System are the most popular majors on Parkside, and masterí»s degree in these two majors and other three majors are also offered here. Fred Ebeid expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to visit Yuncheng University and their interest in extensive cooperation with YCU.
Afterwards, the two parties made in-depth discussions on the 3+1+1 cooperative project of international students. In the afternoon, Fred Ebeid gave a lecture on Wisconsin Idea at Grand Hedong Hall.
